W
ow! A lot of people sent me messages and texts about my last blog—Are You Misusing the 6 (not so secret) Powers That Can Change Your Life? The consistent theme was the question: “How do I use these powers?”
Obviously, a follow-up discussion is needed.
First, let’s review our 6 mental superheroes:
Imagination ~ When we let our mind go wild and conjure up dreams and goals for our future
Intuition ~ The voice (not the negative one) of that higher part of us that recognizes the answer; that feeling from our heart and gut that just “knows”
Memory ~ Pictures of our loved ones, material things, and our experiences are stored here
Perception ~ This is our point of view and is based on our beliefs and experiences
Reason ~ The thinking process and thinking is our highest function
The Will ~ The faculty that helps us focus and concentrate
There you are and if you’d like more detail, please check out my last post and Bob Proctor’s video.
But, how do we use them?
But, how do we use them? As referenced in the previous writing, I was introduced to this knowledge while studying for my certification as a facilitator for Bob Proctor’s Thinking Into Results program. It’s from those lessons and from the numerous books I’ve studied that
I’m sharing this process with you.
- First, we use our imagination to paint a picture of what it is we really want. This sounds simple but can be a complicated step.
Wanting a better job, more money and improved health are great ideas. However, a promotion to a job that’s more stressful and time-consuming; a raise of only $20 a month; and relief from a sore knee while still suffering acute chest pains all meet that criteria, but probably are not our real goals. Although we don’t want to limit our possibilities—especially any wonderful opportunities that we haven’t even thought about—we can see where we do need to be more specific. Let the imagination create a circumstance where our daily work is doing something we love while receiving a constant stream of income that continues to grow. Let’s see ourselves healthy, active and enjoying life without the need for medications and physical restrictions. Don’t go small, go for extraordinary!
- Now we focus on these ideas and use the reasoning faculty to fuel them by filling in the details. It’s important to see these pictures as already done, as if they are a memory, and express gratitude for all that we have and all that we will receive.
- We must continue to use the will to hold the newly created images in our mind. There will be naysayers and that ever-present critical

Love this picture! Our perception can change everything.
voice in our head who will tell us it can’t be done or we’re crazy. It’s also possible that we have a negative perception about our new creation, but we’re thinking individuals and can look at anything from a different angle. It’s surprising how much help will come our way when we let go and believe. It’s with the will that we block out these distractions
- Concentration on our pictures will cause feelings. The more we visualize and hold the images in our mind, the more our emotions will expand. Opportunities will come into our awareness and our intuition and reason will guide us toward those that can help us reach our goals.
- As our feelings continue to grow they will drive us to act! The actions will produce reactions.
- The reactions will generate different results, situations, and circumstance
Those of you who have read my book or other writings know that I’m a big believer in VIBRATION, which is the basis for the Law of Attraction. It’s easy to see how it plays a part in this process. Our vibration is directly affected by the excitement and emotions that are inspired by our visualizations. Our vibration attracts like vibration.
To recap:

We’ve got this!
- We paint the picture of what we want by using our imagination
- Focus on our ideas and use reason to stimulate them and fill in the details
- Use the will to focus on the image to the exclusion of all else
- The more we visualize, the feelings grow and expand
- The feelings will drive us to action
- The action will cause a reaction
- The reaction will change our circumstances
There it is – simple, but not always easy.
